Old tools<\/strong>\u00a0modeled daily use such as the \u201corso\u201d (literally \u201cbear\u201d), the large trowel, the column (the roller marble), the \u201cbeccanella\u201d (the pile driver), the \u201cferro\u201d (the \u201ciron\u201d), the stone and the mallet (spiked mallet).
\nGestures repeated<\/strong>\u00a0in the same time as the sowing, the rolling, the\u00a0\u201corsatura\u201d (sanding with \u201corso\u201d, ), the puttying and the oiling.<\/span>
\nNatural materials<\/strong>\u00a0such as the pebbles, the fragments of marble, the lime and chalk, the linseed oil and the wax.
\nThe history of the terrace is in its\u00a0simple tools<\/strong>\u00a0in his\u00a0poor materials<\/strong>, often discarded; but above all it is in the\u00a0ability<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0creativity<\/strong>\u00a0of these materials and with these tools at one time was able to create beautiful floors and today, with the same tools and with the same materials is able to repair them, to reconstruct the damaged parts to revive them and bring them back to its former glory.<\/p>\n

In dealing with a work of restoration is necessary to:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Be able to determine the period of construction of the terrace;<\/li>\n
  • Identify the composition of materials, from prills to the binder;<\/li>\n
  • Interfere with technical equipment and appropriate so as not to upset the existing features. In the case of Venetian terrazzo lime original is essential to avoid at least the use of quick-setting binders (cement, resin) and deep sanding with sanding machines.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
